WOODSHOP/INDUSTRIAL ARTS TEACHER – STARTING IN JANUARY 2027

In anticipation of a brand new Woodshop building to be completed early in 2027 and with a developing Industrial Arts program, the Oxford Reformed Christian School is seeking a dedicated Woodshop / Industrial Arts Teacher. The successful candidate will be passionate aboutequipping students with practical skills while cultivating a biblical worldview that recognizes Christ’s lordship over all of life—including theskilled trades. This position could be part-time (if limited to teaching specific woodshop courses), or it could be a full-time position (if theapplicant is flexible and willing to teach additional technology-related courses).

The Woodshop / Industrial Arts Teacher will instruct students in grades 7-12 in woodworking, design, and general industrial arts. This role includes fostering craftsmanship, safety, creativity, and stewardship, all within a distinctly Christian setting.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver engaging, hands-on lessons in woodworkingand industrial arts
  • Teach proper use of tools, machinery, and safety procedures
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe workshop environment
  • Integrate Biblical principles into student interactionsand instruction
  • Ability to inspire creativity and problem-solving
  • Encourage diligence, precision, and integrity in student work
  • Assess student progress and provide constructive feedback

Qualifications:

  • Agreement with the school’s mission statement and Reformed confessions
  • Experience and/or training in woodworking, carpentry, or industrial arts
  • Strong organizational skills; able to work independently
  • Able to nurture young people both in skill and character and manage aclassroom
  • Ability to integrate faith and learning in a meaningful way
  • First Aid/CPR and shop safety training preferred (or willingness to obtain)
  • Mechanical aptitude and familiarity with a variety of tools and equipment
  • Commitment to continuous personal and professional growth

PERSONAL SUPPORT WORKER (PSW) NEEDED

Our Christian school community is seeking a compassionate, dependable, and servant-hearted individual to provide one-on-one support for a Grade 1 student with cerebral palsy and developmental delays. This is a deeply meaningful, relationship-based role in which consistency, trust, and gentle care are essential. The successful candidate will work closely with the student throughout the school day, supporting both her physical needs and her participation in the life of the classroom and school community. We are seeking someone who sees this work as a valuable vocation of care, encouragement, and faithful service.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Providing one-on-one support for a student with physical disabilities and developmental delays
  • Assisting with mobility, positioning, transfers, feeding, toileting, and personal care needs
  • Supporting classroom participation, learning activities, and daily routines
  • Encouraging inclusion with peers and involvement in school and community activities
  • Working collaboratively with teachers, therapists, educational staff, and parents
  • Learning and following specific care routines, therapies, and equipment procedures
  • Helping foster a safe, nurturing, joyful, and consistent environment for the student

Qualifications and Experience:

Experience as a Personal Support Worker (PSW), Educational Assistant (EA), caregiver, child and youth worker, or disability support worker would be considered an asset. Because relationship-building and consistency are especially important, we are prayerfully seeking someone who is committed, dependable, and eager to become a trusted part of her daily school experience.
